We do not test for the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. However, there is no risk of this parasite in any of our products because all Primal products are frozen (or have been frozen) for at least 24 hours before becoming available for sale.


Toxoplasmosis is caused by the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii. Infection can occur through the ingestion of oocysts found in raw meat, especially venison, pork, and lamb. Oocysts are killed by cooking or freezing meat for 24 hours.
